Mnesia Description

Data management in telecommunications encompasses various elements, some of which traditional Database Management Systems (DBMSs) do not fully cover. Due to the necessity for high fault tolerance in continuous operation systems and the need for the DBMS to operate within the same address space as the applications, we have developed a novel DBMS known as Mnesia. Mnesia is intricately integrated with Erlang and offers essential functionalities for creating fault-tolerant telecommunications systems. Specifically designed for industrial-grade telecommunications applications, Mnesia serves as a multiuser distributed DBMS and aligns with Erlang as its primary programming language. This system aims to resolve all data management challenges typical in telecommunications environments and boasts several advanced features rarely seen in conventional DBMSs. Moreover, Mnesia's design emphasizes reliability and performance, making it an ideal choice for critical applications in the field.
